Welcome to the Exceptional Student Services Department!

We are excited to support our students, families, and schools in a new and improved way! Beginning this school year, each Rapides Parish feeder system will have a dedicated Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Supervisor leading a Pupil Appraisal team housed within the schools themselves.

This reorganization brings our special education staff closer to the students they serve—fostering stronger relationships, deeper collaboration, and more responsive support. With feeder system-specific teams, we are building greater continuity and consistency when helping students and families navigate supports with clarity and confidence.
